Texas Thoracic Surgeon Dr. David Mason

A board-certified general and thoracic surgeon, Dr. David Mason brings more than 23 years of experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgeries and thoracic surgery oncology to his current position as staff surgeon at a Dallas hospital. Currently focused on surgeries for patients with lung cancer and other diseases of the chest, Dr. David Mason has performed hundreds of transplants on patients with end-stage lung disease.

Dr. Mason previously spent 7 years as chief of thoracic surgery and lung transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center and 10 years as staff surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. He is the recipient of numerous professional accolades, among them a Roche Presidential Student Mentor Award from the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and an Alumnus of the Year award from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Mason holds a bachelor of arts from Harvard University and a medical degree from Columbia University. He completed an internship and residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle and a thoracic surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
